About Us
Corran House is Oban's finest Scottish Tourist Board 4-Star Hostel. It occupies a unique position in accommodation provision in Argyll with quality rooms at good prices for families, groups, backpackers and individuals.
This family-run hostel is managed by Anne and Lindsay MacDonald with the help of some friendly staff. It has gained in popularity over the past few years and large numbers of guests regularly return.
Corran House provides comfortable self-catering guest-house and hostel accommodation in 9 dorm rooms, sleeping a total of 36 people, and 12 guest rooms, sleeping 26. All rooms are prepared with freshly laundered linen. No towels are supplied for occupants of dorm rooms but can be hired for £1 from Reception.
There is a spacious and well-equipped, kitchen with seating for 20 people and a comfortable TV lounge. By prior arrangement, large groups can be provided with a light or full breakfast in the downstairs' bar.
No private parking facility is available on site but ample parking can be found on either side of the building in the Council car parks that are free after 6pm. However, there is an hourly charge during the day.
Beside the patio is Markie Dan's Bar offering a large range of malt whiskies, bar meals (from 12 noon to 9pm), pool table, big-screen TV with Sky, and great Scottish craic! Enjoy the beautiful view from the doorstep while you sample Markie Dan's food and drink.
Please note that Corran House is totally non-smoking and there is no stair-lift in operation.
